Message from the President

Greeting Neighbors,

We’d like to start by saying thank you for your continued support and participation in our neighborhood association.  We hope everyone enjoyed the summer and wish everyone well in the current school year.  TRCA is excited about what we accomplished so far and what we have to look forward to in the upcoming year.

We are especially proud of our accomplishments this past year, which included our continued support of the TC Williams’ scholarship fund; a vibrant and lively National Night Out; a wonderful Earth Day event; increased work with other Citizen Associations; and the effort to lead two very important election forums – the mayoral primary and City council candidate forums.

We thank all the volunteer TRCA executive members for their extraordinary dedication and commitment to our mission and to improve the neighborhood we all call home.  We should not overlook a very important aspect of TRCA, and that is the idea that it is indeed a volunteer position.  Collectively, we meet once a month most of the year to discuss important issues affecting our neighborhood, such as crime, traffic, schools, and City leadership.  We believe our continued success is largely driven by our ability to work together with the citizens in our neighborhood.  If you believe that your area of TRCA is under-represented we would love to have you become more active in TRCA. There is plenty to do and we are always looking for volunteers to join the committee with fresh and constructive ideas.

Again, as winter approaches and the school year goes on, let’s continue to make our neighborhood great, let’s work together to address current issues and enjoy what will be a wonderful Halloween Fall Block Party on Saturday, October 24th!  And remember to VOTE on November 3!!

Thanks, Hendrick, Brett, Amy and Jay
