• IMG 6707TRCA Fall Block Party

This year's Fall Block Party was another great success! Thank you to those who joined us and contributed to the delicious food. There were a lot of activities for the kids inlcuding face painting, crafts, three moon bounces and exercise with CrossFit Old Town.  Our neighborhood photographer, Christine Halsey, captured all of the fun here.

PTCA hosts upcoming School Board forum

School Board elections are coming. Meet the candidates and make your voice heard!

Thirteen candidates running for seats on the Alexandria School Board will meet in an open public forum at Minnie Howard on Oct. 21 at 7:00 pm, to address city-wide issues and respond directly to questions from voters. Election Day is Nov. 3, and the three winners from Districts A, B, and C will be sworn in when the
new School Board convenes in January. The forum is being organized by PTAC, the city-wide PTA Council representing all of Alexandria’s public schools. The forum will be divided into two segments, each lasting
roughly one hour. All candidates will participate in the first segment, and then divide up to meet directly with voters in their individual districts. Students, parents, teachers and community members are all invited.

DSC 0893National Night Out with TRCA

On August 4, 2015, residents in neighborhoods throughout Alexandria and across the nation were asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend an evening outside with neighbors and police. Neighbors in and around the Taylor Run area were invited to Angel Parkfor a potluck dinner and to meet with local police and fire personnel. There was food (Chick-fil-A, Rocklands BBQ, and Zpizza to name a few) donated by TRCA and local businesses, face painting, demonstrations, and giveaways.

It was a wonderful celebration and great way to connect with the neighborhood and city officials!
